The Onam season is here again, that time when the biggest releases of the year hit the cinemas. Just like previous years, movie buffs have a veritable treat lined up for them, with six major releases set to hit the screens.

On top of the list will obviously be Oppam , with which Priyadarshan-Mohanlal team will get together after a long gap.

Visually challenged

Mohanlal will be playing a visually challenged character in the film, which is expected to be a thriller.

The trailer of the film, cut by filmmaker Alphonse Puthren, has already generated keen interest in the film.

The second Mohanlal-starrer for the season will be the Malayalam-Telugu bilingual film Janata Garage, in which he shares screen with Junior NTR.

The film is directed by Koratala Siva.

Mohanlal’s recent Telugu–Malayalam bilingual Vismayam had managed to evoke some interest in the State, at least among the fans.

Thriller mode

Jeethu Joseph goes back to thriller mode after a brief detour into lighter stuff, with Oozham .

This will be his second film with Prithviraj, after the hit Memories .

The film also stars Balachandra Menon, Neeraj Madhav, Divya Pillai and others.

Dileep teams up with Sundar Das after a long gap of more than a decade in Welcome to Central Jail . Vedhika is his co-starrer in the film.

Other releases

Jude Anthany Joseph, who directed the hit Om Shanthi Oshana is back with his second film Oru Muthassi Gadha .

The film stars Vineeth Sreenivasan.

Kunchakko Boban’s release for the season will be Kochavva Paulo Ayyappa Coelho , written and directed by Siddharth Siva.

The movie had recently become the talk of the town when writer Paulo Coelho shared a poster of the film in his Twitter page, probably amused by the reference to his name.
