District Collector A. Shainamol has ordered a magisterial-level probe into Wednesday’s bomb explosion at the civil station complex here. Additional District Magistrate P.S. Swarnamma has been asked to conduct the probe and submit the report. The probe will be held under Section 9 of the Explosives Act 1884.

The report to be submitted in 15 days will also include suggestions to improve security measures at the civil station complex. Ms. Shainamol chaired a meeting on Friday which decided to improve security measures at the complex. The collector issued orders for the removal of furniture, e-waste, and vehicles lying idle from the complex.

She gave directions in this connection to the district-level heads of departments. The meeting decided to rectify snags in the CCTVs installed at the complex. All wicket gates to the complex will be kept closed and there will be round-the-clock police protection. The Collector also asked the City police to open a police outpost inside the complex .
