Keep away from traditions, Constitutional bodies told

President of the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) Prayar Gopalakrishnan has said all constitutional bodies should keep away from intervening in traditions of not only Hinduism but also of other religions too. “India is a secular country, so people are at liberty to believe in any religion and follow its traditions,” he said. At a press conference here on Thursday, he said there was no shift in the TDB stance on the issue of women’s entry into the Sabarimala temple. “The TDB is committed to upholding and preserving the more than 700-year-old sacred traditions of the Sabarimala temple, Mr. Gopalakrishnan said.
