The 102nd annual budget of the Nair Service Society (NSS), presented by general secretary G. Sukumaran Nair, envisages an income and expenditure of Rs.98.15 crore.

The budget takes a focussed stance to provide for new institutions in the education and medical sectors and also for expanding cultivation in plantations.

The budget provides for developing infrastructure at the newly sanctioned aided higher secondary schools at Kurathikadu, Vaipur, Vechoor, and Chingavanam. The budget has earmarked Rs.4.65 crore for new buildings for these institutions and another Rs.1.70 crore for furniture, library and lab facilities. The budget has also provided for construction of an academic block at its engineering college, a moot court at the law college at Kottiyam and a new aided college at Parakkulam. It provides for works at the hospitals at Pandalam, Perunna and Karukachal and at the Ayurveda hospital at Nilambur.

The proposed Mannam Heritage Home for the elderly will be linked to the Mannam Ayurveda Medical College.
