The Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Hyderabad has ruled out pesticide content in the visceral samples of the late actor Kalabhavan Mani.

However, methanol content was found in the samples, indicating consumption of illicit liquor. The report was handed over to the State police.

Since there is confusion about the quantity of methanol found, the police will hold further discussions with the CFSL authorities.

Brother demands probe

Meanwhile, Mani’s brother demanded an investigation into how illicit liquor had reached the actor’s body. The family members contended that illicit liquor would not reach Mani’s body without the knowledge of his friends, who were present at Paddy, his farm house.

Kalabhavan Mani passed away on March 6 at a private hospital in Kochi.

Lab test

A test at the Chemical Laboratory, Kakkanad, had found the presence of chlorpyrifos, a pesticide, in his body, triggering suspicion that the death was unnatural.
