Bomb attack on CPI(M) worker’s house in Kannur

The house of a local Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader at Mavilachalil under the Chakkarakkal police station limits here came under bomb attack in the early hours of Tuesday.

The police said that the house of CPI(M) Anjarakkandy area committee member and former Munderi panchayat president P. Chandran was damaged in the attack at around 2 a.m. Mr. Chandran and his family were inside the house when the attack took place. The CPI(M) alleged that the attack was carried out by BJP and RSS workers.

Meanwhile, the BJP denied that its workers were behind the attack on the house of Mr. Chandran. In a press release here, the BJP Kannur Assembly constituency committee here alleged that attempts were on to falsely implicate BJP workers in the case.
