Benefits sought for unaided school staff

August 21, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 07:39 am IST - KOLLAM:

The district unit of the Kerala Unaided School Teachers and Staff Union has demanded that the managements of unaided schools give a month’s pay as bonus to teachers and non-teaching staff for Onam.

In addition to that, one month’s salary should be paid as advance.

In a statement here on Friday, union district secretary Basil Joseph said the union would resort to agitations against the managements that denied bonus. He invited the managements to engage in talks with the union to solve the issue.

To decide on the future course of action pertaining to other demands like job security, better service and pay conditions, and minimum pay scale for such teachers through enactment of a law, the State committee of the union would meet on August 28 in Thrissur, Mr. Basil said.
