All India Congress Committee (AICC) observer Deepak Babaria has warned that action will be taken against those fomenting factionalism in the party.
Reviewing the poll preparations as well as the election campaign in the district on Tuesday, he said he had received a few complaints over certain organisational matters. He said Congress workers were not supposed to campaign against a candidate fielded by the party.
The AICC observer visited Adoor where factional feud was evident over the selection of the party candidate. Mr Babaria also attended the filing of papers by K.K.Shaju, Congress nominee in Adoor.
District Congress Committee president P.Mohanraj briefed him about the political situation in the district. Mr Babaria directed Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee secretary Pazhakulam Madhu to coordinate the party functioning in Adoor, where the Congress candidate was defeated by a margin of 605 votes in the 2011 elections.
KPCC president V.M. Sudheeran will address UDF election meetings to be held at Pandalam (10 am), Vallicaud (11 am), Ranni-Perinad (4 pm), Elavumthitta (5 pm), and at Thottabhagom (6 pm) on Wednesday.
