We should realise that serving the people is not just our duty. It is our moral responsibility, Anurag Tewari, Deputy Commissioner, has told government employees in Bidar on Friday.

“Public service is not difficult or complicated. It starts and ends with each of us doing the job given to us,” Mr. Tewari said.

He was speaking at a workshop organised by the Karnataka State Government Employees’ Association on Jyoti Sanjeevini Health Insurance scheme launched by the State government for funding healthcare costs of government servants.

He gave details about the health insurance scheme and asked them spread awareness about the scheme among other employees. Rajendra Gandage, association district unit president, said the employees had to update their records in the human resource management system. The government paid for 449 surgeries and procedures.
