MBA student Syed Waqas has been let off by the police after questioning.

Superintendent of Police, Belgaum district, Chandragupta, said the mobile phone records showed that Waqas was also a receiver of the MMS.

Hence, the message did not originate from his phone.

Dr. Chandragupta clarified that Waqas was never arrested but only picked up for questioning.

He was let off as there was no prima facie evidence.

The officer added that Waqas would have to present himself before the police if new evidence was found against him.
