The vice-chancellor (V-C) of Gulbarga University, S.R. Niranjana, has said that steps have been initiated to fill up the 322 non-teaching posts that have been lying vacant for years.
Prof. Niranjana, chairing the Academic Council meeting on the main campus of Gulbarga University in Kalaburagi city on Wednesday, threw light on the severe shortage of teaching and non-teaching staff in the University. He said that the vacant posts of non-teaching staff would be filled up within four months.
He said that the University had submitted a proposal to the Hyderabad-Karnataka Region Development Board (HKRDB) for sanctioning funds to establish a bus-stand, vehicle parking and public toilets on the university campus.
The Council members suggested introducing ‘bar coding’ for answer sheets to ensure that evaluators do not learn the identity of students. They suggested a biometric attendance system and pushed for the installation of CCTV cameras in the examination hall.
