Congress candidates M. Ramachandra and S. Basavaraju were unanimously elected as president and vice-president of Chamarajanagar Zilla Panchayat on Saturday.
No other candidate filed nomination papers, as the Congress, which has 14 members, dominates the 23-member zilla panchayat.
The president post was reserved for the Scheduled Tribe Men Category and vice-president post for the general category. The elected members were present at the zilla panchayat hall at 1 p.m., where election officer A.M. Kunjappa made the announcement.
Speaking to presspersons, Mr. Ramachandra said he would work honestly for the development of the district.
