The Udupi City Municipal Council (CMC) has formed a task force to deal with the drinking water problem in the city.

An official press release issued here said that the task force had been formed as the water-level in the Baje dam was receding with every passing day. The task force would ensure proper distribution of water and to meet any emergency requirement of water.

The municipal councillors of all the 35 wards and municipal officials are members of the task force and would look into the water needs of the wards allotted to them, the release added.
