Two GESCOM staff held on assault charge

The Brucepet police have arrested two employees of Gulbarga Electric Supply Company (GESCOM) in connection with the assault on presspersons on Friday.

The police have identified the arrested as Jathappa and Pompaiah.

They have launched a search for others involved in the assault.

Meanwhile, Santosh Lad, Minister for Labour and district in-charge, has condemned the incident.

He told presspersons that he had already spoken to R. Chetan, Superintendent of Police, and Vijay Dambal, Additional Superintendent of Police, to take a serious view of the incident.

Some journalists from the electronic media were allegedly assaulted by a group from KPTCL Employees Union here on Friday.
