As part of “Rail Hamsafar Saptaah” being conducted by the Indian Railways from May 26 to June 1, the South Western Railway (SWR) observed “Satkar Diwas” here on Friday.
General Manager of SWR Pradeep Kumar Saxena and other officials visited the catering units and drinking water facilities at different railway stations and also inspected the stations.
Checking the cleanliness and hygiene at the catering stalls at Hubballi railway station, Mr. Saxena advised the authorities to periodically check the catering units.
Subsequently, the pantry cars of Mysuru-Ajmer Express (16210 ); Jodhpur-KSR (Bengaluru) Express (16507); Goa Link Express (17305) and catering service of Hubballi- KSR (Bengaluru) Jan Shatabdi Express (12080) were also inspected. Similar checks were conducted at various stations and trains plying in Hubballi, Mysuru and Bengaluru divisions of the zone. As part of the drive, “Swachchata Diwas” was observed on Thursday and Mr. Saxena inspected the platforms, stalls, and water vending shops. Inspecting the subway, he asked the officials to expedite the pending works.
