Baburao Chinchansur, Minister for Textiles and Ports, has asked the officials concerned to ensure that drinking water is supplied to the villages facing acute shortage through tankers.
Addressing a review meeting here, Mr. Chinchansur, who is also the district in-charge Minister, took stock of the situation. He directed rural drinking water supply and sanitation division officials to complete the ongoing drinking water projects expeditiously and attend to complaints on water shortage quickly.
He directed Animal Husbandry Department officials to stock fodder for animals.
He instructed Vikash Suralkar, Chief Executive Officer of the zilla panchayat, to supervise the works taken up under the drought relief fund. Mr. Chinchansur participated in the ground-breaking ceremony to lay pipelines from the main pipeline from the Bhima to Gurmitkal town under a drinking water project.
The project to lay a 113-km pipeline will come up at a cost of Rs. 32 core, he said and added that the work has been given to the Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Drainage Board.
Deputy Commissioner Manoj Jain was present.
