Speeding car kills two in Maddur

Two people were killed and two injured when a car hit them on the Bengaluru-Mysuru highway in Maddur on Tuesday evening.

The victims were waiting to cross the highway, the Maddur police said.

The deceased have been identified as Savitha (46), ‘D’ Group employee of the Government H.K. Veerannagowda First Grade College in Maddur, and Syed Ikbal (48), a resident of Besagarahalli.

According to the Maddur police, the car rammed the victims, a cyclist, a motorcycle and a minivan.

The police suspect it to be a case of reckless driving. The car driver, who is yet to be identified, too was injured and rushed to a hospital.
