Revanna defends IPS officers

July 20, 2016 04:55 pm | Updated 05:02 pm IST - Hassan

Janata Dal (Secular) leader and MLA H.D. Revanna has come in defence of senior IPS officers A.M. Prasad and Pronab Mohanthy, who have been accused of abetting the suicide of DySP M.K. Ganapathy, even as his party demanded strict action against the officers in the Legislature session.

Mr. Revanna, in a press conference here on Wednesday, said he had known both the officers for many years. “They are honest and efficient officers. The government should not suspend them,” he said. He maintained that even in the Legislature session he was only demanding cases filed against those names that figured in the Ganapathi’s dying declaration, not the suspension of officers.
