Quality control labs to come up at all PWD subdivisions

Minister for Public Works H.C. Mahadevappa has said that quality control laboratories will be set up at all the subdivisions of the Public Works Department (PWD) within a month.

The quality control laboratories will assess the quality of roads and buildings being constructed by the PWD, Mr. Mahadevappa told presspersons after participating in a Bangalore Circle-level meeting of his department officials here recently.

The Minister said the Road Information Management System was also being put in place, and very soon public could get information about the status of all roads in the State from the PWD website. Mr. Mahadevappa said that Rs. 59 crore released from the Central Road Funds would be used for the development of 46.1-km stretch of road in Kolar and 58-km stretch in Chickballapur districts.
