Hundreds of farmers gathered at the city’s Maharaja’s college grounds on Thursday seeking fulfilment of their charter of 23 demands. The farmers had gathered under the joint aegis of the Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS) and Hasiru Sene, Mysuru unit.

Though they planned to lay siege to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s residence in Ramakrishnanagar, the police stopped them from proceeding towards their destination.

Farmers, who continued their protest at Maharaja’s college grounds, demanded waiver of all farm loans, setting up of an agricultural commission to decide on monthly honorarium, pension for farmers, quality power supply to irrigation pumpsets for at least 10 hours a day, among others.
