Officials told to disburse compensation

Minister of State for Sericulture and Animal Husbandry A. Manju, who is also Minister in-charge of Hassan, on Saturday, visited Ibbadi village in Arakaglgud taluk, where agriculture land was flooded after a bund of Doddakere breached on Thursday.

The Minister, during his visit, interacted with farmers who were affected in the floods. Standing crops on hundreds of acres was affected, causing huge loss to the farmers.

The farmers demanded that the Minister release compensation for the crop loss.

The Minister also said that he had instructed the district administration to work out the procedures to disburse compensation for the farmers.

Furthermore, he said he had asked the Cauvery Neeravari Nigam Limited officers to look for the reasons for the breach and take disciplinary action against those responsible.
