Modi’s elder brother visits Humcha village

Somabhai Modi, elder brother of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, offered prayers at the historical Padmavathi temple in Humcha village near here on Monday.

Mr. Modi, a social worker, was accompanied by Rudre Gowda, president of the Bharatiya Janata Party district unit, and D.S. Arun, general secretary.

After offering pooja at the temple, he visited the Panchabasadi located nearby. He held discussions with Devendra Keerti Bhattaraka Swamiji, pontiff of the Jain mutt. The pontiff briefed him on the history of Humcha and on the social service activities undertaken by the mutt. The pontiff also felicitated him.

Tight security arrangements were put in place in Humcha.
