Manipal varsity to start course in Vietnam

The Department of Occupational Therapy, School of Allied Health Sciences, Manipal University, signed an MoU with Medical Committee Netherlands-Vietnam, an NGO, to establish and develop an occupational therapy (OT) programme in Vietnam.

According to a press release issued on Friday, the Vietnamese delegation was in Manipal on Tuesday and Wednesday to discuss the five-year programme. The project is funded by USAID and involves two government universities in Vietnam – Hai Duong Medical Technical University, Hai Duong (North Vietnam) and the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City (South Vietnam).

Five students from Vietnam will soon complete their Bachelors and Masters programmes in occupational therapy at the School of Allied Health Sciences.

On completion, they qualify to become occupational therapy teachers.
