Malavalli constituency MLA P.M. Narendra Swamy took Mandya Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer B. Sharath to task for poor implementation of the pure drinking water project in his constituency.

Talking about various problems and developmental schemes during the quarterly review meeting of the Karnataka Development Programme (KDP), held at the Zilla Panchayat auditorium on Thursday, Mr. Swamy questioned the ZP CEO for his failure to address the issue.

Mr. Swamy said that he was completely disappointed with the CEO’s failure in implementing and maintaining drinking water schemes.

At least 15 drinking water plants in Malavalli taluk are yet to be inaugurated, though the works were completed around two years ago, the MLA said.

M.N. Ajay Nagabhushan, Deputy Commissioner, said that the officials were busy due to the recently held election related works.

The MLA suggested that the CEO and other officials to take proper and prompt measures to complete and implement the schemes.

K.R. Pet MLA K.C. Narayana Gowda also expressed his unhappiness over the poor progress in the Bookanakere multi village drinking water project.

Housing Minister M.H. Ambareesh, who chaired the meeting, reviewed the progress of schemes being implemented by several departments.

District in-charge secretary Kalpana and others were present.
