The Horticulture Department Park in Mandya is all set for the floriculture and horticultural show.

The Horticulture Department Park in Mandya is all set for the floriculture and horticultural show.

The annual floriculture and horticultural show will be conducted this year at the Horticulture Department’s park here from January 26 to February 1.

With a view to encourage gardening and floriculture, the Department of Horticulture is organising the event at the park, near the Deputy Commissioner’s office here.

The department would decorate the park with ornamental, medical, aromatic, bonsai and other plant varieties, K. Rudresh, Deputy Director, Horticulture Department, told presspersons here on Saturday.

30 stalls

The department will set up at least 30 stalls and conduct competitions in vegetable carving, fruits decoration and rangoli among others.

District in-charge Secretary Kalpana, Deputy Commissioner M.N. Ajay Nagabhushan, Superintendent of Police C.H. Sudheer Kumar Reddy, zilla panchayat Chief Executive Officer B. Sharath and others will participate in the inaugural function.

The event is being organised by the Horticulture Department, in association with Mandya Zilla Panchayat and District Horticulture Association.
