MP Suresh C. Angadi, who is known for issuing statements only to withdraw them later and tender apologies, was at it again. This time, in connection with a controversial grave, he had asked the district administration and police officials if they were serving Indians or people of another country. Apparently, he was questioning the nationality of those who had opposed the removal of the grave.

Meanwhile, there have been controversies over several small and big temples in the city, built allegedly without proper permission from the authorities concerned. Some of them have come up in open places in the layouts formed by the Belagavi Urban Development Authority.
