Heavy winds accompanied by rain created havoc in the district on Thursday. Several villages in Dornalli, Naikal, Hayyal (B) hoblis, and Shahapur and Yadgir cities experienced gusty winds and rain between 3.30 p.m. and 4.15 p.m.

Tin roofs of houses and roadside shops were blown away, leaving residents to run hither and thither collecting them to store them safely before any more damage is done. “On the same day, we experienced both heat and rain, couple with gusty winds,” said Mohammad Irfan, a cycle shop owner.
