Former ZP president, former Kalaburagi Mayor in the fray

Prominent among those who have been given ticket to contest the zilla panchayat elections in Kalaburagi district include the former zilla panchayat president Nitin Guttedar and former Kalaburagi Mayor Sanjay Singh (Congress) and the former vice-president of the zilla panchayat, Harshanand Guttedar (BJP).

While Mr. Guttedar would cross swords with his arch rival Arunkumar Patil of the BJP, who is also the eldest son of the former MLA M.Y. Patil, in Mashal constituency in Afzalpur taluk; Sanjay Singh, a close relative of the former Chief Minister N. Dharam Singh, will contest from Khanadal. Harshanand Guttedar, who is contesting from Khajuri will face Kannada activist Arunkumar Patil of the Congress.
