Farmers stop their protest at Amminabhavi

Farmers who were staging an agitation over the Kalasa-Banduri Nal issue close to the water treatment plant at Amminabhavi village near here withdrew their protest after being persuaded by the Dharwad district administration on Thursday.

The farmers withdrew their protest after Additional Deputy Commissioner B.C. Satish held talks with them.

He ssured them of arranging a meeting with the elected representatives next week.

However, no date was given for the meeting.

Following his assurance, the farmers, who had earlier announced that they continue the agitation for three days, withdrew their protest.
