As many as 11 nomination papers were filed for the zilla panchayat elections and 32 nominations were filed for the taluk panchayat elections in Raichur on Thursday.
There are 38 zilla panchayat seats and 142 taluk panchayat seats in five taluk panchayats in the district.
Break-up
Of the 11 nominations, three are from the Congress, one was from the Janata Dal (Secular), and seven were Independent. Of the 32 nominations, 16 were from the Congress, six were from the BJP, four were from the Janata Dal (Secular) and six were Independents.
