Elephant raids plantations in Kudligere

A wild elephant, which destroyed standing crops in Attigunda and Antaragange Gram Panchayat limits in Bhadravathi taluk recently, raided banana plantations in Kudligere village on Wednesday.

Village residents have said that 30 banana trees in the nearby plantations were damaged by the elephant.

The pachyderm was reportedly camping on the banks of the Hirekere tank on the outskirts of Kudligere village in the evening.

The personnel of Department of Forest have arrived to drive back the animal into the forest.
