A 65-year-old woman was crushed to death after being hit by a Rajahamsa bus at the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus stand in Maddur here on Monday.

The victim has been identified as Kamalamma, a native of Mysuru. The Maddur police, quoting eyewitnesses, said Kamalamma was walking near the entrance of the stand when the bus, coming from Bengaluru, entered from the Bengaluru-Mysuru highway and hit her.

She came under the wheels and died on the spot, police added. According to KSRTC officials, the bus was going to Madikeri when the accident occurred.
