Dy.SP suicide: Pavana to write to PM seeking CBI probe

July 14, 2016 09:58 am | Updated September 18, 2016 01:32 pm IST - MYSURU:

Pavana, wife of the late Deputy Superintendent of Police M.K. Ganapathy, is firm on her demand for a CBI probe into her husband’s death and will write to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to press for it.

Speaking to reporters, Ms. Pavana took exception to the government refusing to even acknowledge her statement before the police, and instead considering only her father-in-law’s statement, which he had later retracted, attributing her husband’s alleged suicide to a rift in the family. On the State government’s decision to hand over the investigation to a judicial commission, Ms. Pavana said she was not confident of securing justice if it was not headed by retired judges of the calibre of the former Lokayuktas N. Santosh Hegde and N. Venkatachala.
