Don’t know why Yeddyurappa is opposed to Rayanna Brigade, says Eshwarappa

Maintaining that “Sangolli Rayanna Brigade” was being set up to ensure that state BJP president B.S. Yeddyurappa becomes the Chief Minister again, Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council K.S. Eshwarappa said that he will meet Mr. Yeddyurappa to clear the air of confusion.

Clarifying that he was an RSS activist, he said he would not indulge in any anti-party activity. “I had gone to the meeting of members of backward classes on invitation. They claimed they were deceived by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who had assured to help them. The main condition of me attending the meeting was that the Brigade would support BJP in election and afterwards,” he said.

He added that he did not understand why Mr. Yeddyurappa was opposed to the Brigade. “I have not discussed the issue with him. I will meet him soon and sort out the differences,” he said.

He also clarified that he did not have any plan of rising to the post of Chief Minister through the Brigade. “My effort, through the Brigade, will be to bring BJP to power and make Mr. Yeddyurappa the Chief Minister,” he said.

Likening the differences within the party to ‘Samudra Manthana’ of the Hindu mythology, Mr. Eshwarappa said: “We are all like brothers in the party. There will be differences. The ‘manthana’ (churning) of ideas will ultimately give us ‘Amruta’ (elixir),” he said.
