Members of Janawadi Mahila Sanghatane have brought out “JNU Mele Dali Bharatada Mele Dali”— a Kannada book containing articles written by various writers on the Rohit Vemula, a dalit scholar who committed suicide in Hyderabad University and Kanhaiya Kumar, a JNU student, who was arrested on charges of sedition.

The activists chose to release the book in the Bhagat Singh Circle near the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Bidar on Tuesday.

‘Stars of resistance’

K. Neela, who edited the book, said that Rohit and Kanhaiya were like two stars of resistance against injustice in the society.

The coming generations will remember them for ever, she said.

BJP slammed

She criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Union government for trying to suppress student and youth movements that are raging in the country.

Dissidence is a tool for a change in democracy.

It should not be mistaken for anti –nationalism, she said, according to a press release issued here.
