Bharatiya Janata Party National President Amit Shah is making a brief stop-over at the International Airport near here on Tuesday night on his way to Delhi to meet the leaders of the party’s State unit, on the occasion of the party winning the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike polls.

According to sources in the BJP, all the prominent leaders of the party including those who worked for the polls will meet Mr. Shah. The meeting is expected to last for about an hour.

Though the sources maintained that the meeting is confined only to greet the party leaders for the victorious performance, there is a speculation in political circles that Mr. Shah may try to build further on the BBMP poll victory by planning a campaign against the Congress government.

The BBMP victory has come as a moral booster for the BJP State unit which had failed to take any of its campaigns to the logical end. Its timing too is important as it has come just when Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had started flexing his political muscles.
