Action against Revenue Department personnel

Sorab MLA Madhu Bangarappa has recommended that the tahsildar initiate disciplinary action against the personnel of Records of Rights, Tenancy and Crop Inspection (RTC) section of the Department of Revenue, for their failure to turn up to work on time.

When Mr. Bangarappa visited the Taluk office in Sorab to take part in the tri-monthly meeting that was being held to review the progress of implementation of Karnataka Development Programmes, he had noticed a large number of people gathered before the RTC section.

People’s complaint

The people complained to him that the personnel were deliberately delaying the disposal of applications for issuance of new RTC and incorporation of corrections in existing RTCs. Ravi and Somashekhar, the personnel at RTC section had not turned up to work even at 11 a.m.

‘Dereliction of duty’

Mr. Bangarappa expressed his anger over the behaviour of the personnel and said that their failure to arrive at the office at the stipulated time, that too without a valid reason, amounted to dereliction of duty.

Furthermore, he directed Tahsildar Kavitha Yogappanavar to conduct a probe based on the complaint he had received from the public gathered there, and take action against the personnel.
