JD(S) to stage protest demanding drinking water

January 17, 2017 10:21 pm | Updated 10:21 pm IST - Hassan:

Former Minister and MLA of Janata Dal (Secular) H.D. Revanna has said that workers of his party will stage a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Hassan on January 23 demanding the implementation of proper measures to provide drinking water for people and cattle in the district.

Addressing a press conference in Hassan on Tuesday, Mr. Revanna said the district administration had failed to provide drinking water to the people. Despite repeated demands, the Deputy Commissioner had not spent the funds meant for drought relief work. “I am a representative of people in Holenarasipur constituency. I have not been able to face my people as the government has failed to provide water to them. Hundreds of people will bring their cattle for the protest on the day,” he said.

H.S. Prakash, MLA, Hassan, was present at the conference.
