2 more farmers end life in Kolar

Two farmers, Venkatesh (30) and his wife Padma (25), allegedly committed suicide in Jangala Obatti in Malur taluk of Kolar district on Thursday evening.

Venkatesh is said to have taken loans from private financiers to purchase a tractor. He was depressed as the financiers confiscated the tractor since he could not repay the loans. They are suspected to have consumed rice mixed with poison to end their life, the police told The Hindu .

With this, the number of suicides by farmers in Kolar district in the last couple of months has risen to eight.
