YSRC leader to file case against senior cop

September 01, 2015 12:00 am | Updated March 28, 2016 02:43 pm IST - RAJAHMUNDRY:

YSRC Central Executive Committee (CEC) member Jakkampudi Vijayalakshmi has said she will file a private case against Rajahmundry Urban Additional Superintendent of Police Sidha Reddy under Section 354 of the IPC for using filthy language against her when she went to the Prakash Nagar police station during the YSRC-sponsored bandh on August 29.

She added that she would also complain in the Woman Protection Cell, AP Human Rights Commission. Speaking to reporters at the Rajahmundry Press Club on Monday, she said police had implicated two of her sons, Jakkampudi Raja and Ganesh, along with five others, and sent them to the Central Jail after filing cases under Sections 332 and 333 of the IPC for alleged attack on police.

“I was told there was a small abrasion on Sub-Inspector Siva Ganesh’s head, which was the result of an altercation with agitators during the bandh.

“But, police filed cases against my two sons under Sections that refer to grievous hurt.

“If the Sub-Inspector was grievously hurt in the incident that took place around 11.30 a.m., why was he admitted to hospital around 3 p.m?” Mrs. Vijyalakshmi asked.

She demanded an enquiry into the incident, asking as to why she was taken to the Gokavaram police station as a matter of preventive custody instead of putting her in the same station where her sons and other party workers were detained.
