With the campaign for the general elections gaining momentum, the Telugu Desam Party added glamour to it by roping in film star for the electioneering in Karimnagar district on Thursday.

TDP leader and comedian Venu Madhav visited Karimnagar district on Thursday and campaigned for TDP and BJP candidates in Manakondur and Huzurabad Assembly segments.

Venu Madhav, who is known for special comedy skits, captivated the audience with filmy dialogues and also mimicked TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu while appealing for vote for stable and efficient government.

Venu Madhav moved very closely with the people during his electioneering and inquired with the road-side vendors, shop-keepers and others about their wellbeing. He also consumed tea at a roadside shop amid cheers.

He greeted an aged woman as his girl friend and appealed her to cast the vote in favour of BJP ad TDP candidates.

The film star had appealed to the voters to vote for TDP nominees K Satyanarayana and M Kashyap Reddy in Manakondur and Huzurabad Assembly segments and Ch Vidyasagar Rao from the Karimnagar Parliamentary constituency. People came in large numbers to have a glimpse of the actor.
