Rich tributes were paid to senior journalist and psychologist Kalathuru Sudhakar Reddy, who passed away at his native Papanaidupet village near here recently.

At a condolence meeting here on Friday, former Speaker of Assembly Agarala Eswara Reddi hailed Dr. Sudhakar Reddy’s commitment towards journalism and academics and recalled anecdotes from their association for three decades. N.B. Sudhakara Reddy, vice-president of Andhra Pradesh Counselling Psychologists Association, called his demise a ‘loss’ to the field of psychologists.

The first generation journalist started his career with the launch of Eenadu’s Tirupati edition in mid-eighties and later shifted to ‘Andhra Prabha’ and ‘Udayam’, before moving to the field of academics and counselling psychology.

His contemporaries presently working in various districts reached Tirupati to participate in the memorial meeting.

IIIT Chittoor (Sri City) academic affairs head P. Ramachandra Reddy, SHREE Engineering College Chairman Damodaram sTenkayala, Federation of Farmers’ Associations (FFA) president Mangati Gopal Reddy and senior journalists took part.
