Say Buggana should not malign the image of KE family

Telugu Desam Party leaders criticised YSR Congress MLA of Dhone and Public Accounts Committee chairman Buggana Rajendranatha Reddy on Friday for questioning the propriety of TDP Dhone constituency in charge K.E. Prathap in inviting him to a meeting addressed by Deputy Chief Minister K.E. Krishnamurthy.

Though the official machinery invited the MLA as per protocol, he too formally invited him as constituency in charge, Mr. Prathap told the media in Kurnool. Mr. Prathap, who is the brother of the Deputy CM, wondered why the Opposition MLA was finding fault with him for extending an invitation.

Mr. Prathap, who is mandal Janmabhoomi Committee member, asserted that he had initiated developmental works worth Rs. 4 crore in Dhone by representing the community needs to the government, whereas the MLA failed to focus on problems in the constituency and did not secure any grants by representing to the government.

He charged Mr. Rajendranatha Reddy with acting as a ‘zamindar’ and not mingling with people or taking up their problems. Mr. Prathap asserted that Mr. Krishnamurthy would take part in developmental programmes at Dhone on June 27 and added that he was now extending an invitation to the MLA through the media. The MLA was in frustration as Opposition members were deserting YSRC and joining the TDP, he said.

TDP Central Disciplinary Committee member Somisetty Venkateswarlu said a public representative must behold his stature and not try to malign the image of KE family by trying to make an issue on trivial grounds. The MLA ought to have attended the earlier meeting and apprised the Deputy CM of problems in his constituency.

Kurnool DCCB chairman Mallikarjuna Reddy and TDP leader Prabhakar of Kodumur also flayed the MLA’s attitude.
