A ten-year-old boy, Ramamurthy Naik, of tribal welfare hostel at Bangarupalem near Chittoor was seriously injured when he fell from the hostel balcony while playing with his friends on Thursday evening. With a head injury, the boy was rushed to government hospital in Chittoor.
Collector Siddarth Jain asked officials to immediately shift the boy to Tirupati for treatment. He said that the government would bear the expenditure involved in the treatment. He asked the hostel authorities to submit a report.
District coordinator (school health) Dr. Annareddy Sudarsan said that the injured boy was shifted to Tirupati.
The boy hails from Narayanapuram tribal hamlet of Kuppam constituency.
