Telugu Desam Party Polit Bureau member Sidda Raghava Rao or Damacharla Janardhan Rao from Prakasam District may find a place in Chandrababu Naidu’s cabinet, according to the party sources.

Mr Raghava Rao, who has been a member of the Legislative Council in the united Andhra Pradesh, won from Darsi Assembly constituency, while Mr. Janardhan, the TDP district unit president, ended the winning streak of four-time MLA Balineni Srinivasa Reddy in Ongole in the recently concluded elections.

Mr. Rao belongs to the Vysya community, while Mr Janardhan, grandson of former TDP Minister Damacharla Anjaneyulu, hails from the politically-dominant Kamma community.

The party may also consider inclusion of former Ongole MP Karnam Balaram Krishnamurthy, a Kamma, under the MLCs' quota at a later stage, the sources said. Mr Krishnamurthy, TDP’s farmers’ wing State president, opted out of contesting the Assembly elections in favour of his son Karnam Venkatesh, who lost to YSRC nominee Gotipatti Ravikumar in Addanki.
