Prashanthi Nilayam wears a festive look

The first day of the three-day Sathya Sai World Youth festival (SSWYF) got under way on Tuesday inside the Sai Kulwant Hall, Prashanthi Nilayam, at Puttaparthi. Over 3,200 youth from around 70 countries are taking part in the festival.

The hall wore a festive look as the youth walked inside with the flag of their respective country.

Commending the phenomenal effort in the run-up to the massive festivity, first of its kind, Narendranath Reddy, Chairman of the Prashanthi Council, elaborated on the uniqueness of the festivity, explaining some of the salient features.

A special mention was made for the unique Sai Ram City in Kazakhstan which features Sai Ram River, Sai Ram Mountain and a whole range of inspirational Sai service activities.

The day ended with the speech of cricketer V.V.S. Laxman who spoke about his experiences with Sathya Sai Baba.

On day two, the festival will feature an exchange of the experiences of the youth of various countries.
