Budagajangam Yuvajana Vidyarthi Sangham on Saturday urged the State government to constitute a separate corporation for the welfare of the nomadic communities in the State.

Addressing a meeting at Lakshminagar here, sangham president Thurpati Manohar sought Scheduled Caste status for the nomadic communities such as Budagajangam, Bedajangam, Dasari, Chindollu, Dekkala, Baindla, Gosangi and Jaggali communities, which were economically, financially and educationally backward.

The once nomadic communities had settled down at various places in Kurnool district.
