People, especially women and girls, are in a grip of fear, with reports of the man jabbing needles in the Bhimavaram. Women and girls are scared to move alone on the roads. Police said the condition of the victims who were admitted in various hospitals was stable.
The accused attacked women with needles at Undi, Bhimavaram, Kavitam, Palakollu, Siddantham, Penugonda, Palakoderu, Cherukuvada and other mandals.
Almost the psychopath jabbed needles every day since August 22 and managed to escape from the public and police. Police announced Rs. 1 lakh reward to those who give information on the miscreant.
“The miscreant is targeting women and girls moving on roads alone in isolated places. Syringes were not used in any incident and the man was poking only needles as per the complainants,” said SP Bhaskar Bhushan.Police pickets have been arranged at bus stops, junctions and public places and patrolling has been intensified in the villages on bikes and four-wheelers, the SP said.
“Blood samples of the victims and the needles have been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL). We are making all efforts to nab the miscreant,” Mr. Bhushan said.
