Opposition parties stage dharna for special tag

Lok Satta, Congress, YSR Congress, CPI (M), CPI, and BSP staged a dharna at Ambedkar’s Junction in the town on Saturday demanding that MPs from North Andhra and Rayalaseema districts raise their voice in Parliament for special status to the seven backward districts in the two regions of the State.

B.A. Babji, State LSP general secretary, Yedla Adiraju, DCC president, P. Jai Hind Kumar, YSRCP district SC Cell president, T. Suryanarayana, CPI (M) district secretary, B. Ashok, CPI leader, and Ch. Rani (BSP) criticised the TDP-BJP combine for misleading peopleand said that the State’s inability to pressurise the Centre on Special Category Status was exposed.
