Nannapaneni takes oath as State mahila panel chief

Senior TDP leader Nannapaneni Rajakumari was sworn in as Chairperson of AP State Mahila Commission at a ceremony held at Sri Venkateswara Vignana Mandiram here on Wednesday.

Minister for Women and Child Empowerment Peethala Sujatha administered the oath to Ms. Rajakumari in the presence of Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao, Home Minister N. Chinarajappa, Minister P. Pulla Rao and MLAs.

Addressing a meeting, Ms. Rajakumari said that she had been in active politics since the Jai Andhra agitation and since then continued to raise her voice over issues concerning women across the State.

Vowing to dispense justice with a stern hand, Ms. Rajakumari said that in some cases of domestic harassment, it was found that womenfolk were also guilty.
